Description

“Nautilus” is a Swift Trawler 42 by French boat builder Beneteau. The first “fast” trawler, she was made from 2003 to 2010--- She was replaced by the Swift Trawler 44, and then the Swift Trawler 41. Beneteau sold over 250 Swift Trawler 42s; She proved that you can make a trawler that is efficient at reduced speeds while being able to cruise at well over 20 knots thanks to her powerful engines. Her seaworthy hull can handle rough seas and with sufficient range to make extended cruising a reality. The boat offers two staterooms with two heads. Stable and responsive, the Swift Trawler is a good compromise between efficient, speedy travel and relaxed comfort while living aboard. The hull is solid fiberglass, with balsa-cored deck for light weight and rigidity. Some Features and Upgrades: 2 x 370HP Yanmar Diesel engines, with under 600 hours. Just serviced Nov 2022. New analog gauges at lower helm (March 2023). Bow Thruster Vessel buffed and waxed (Nov. 2022) Olsson RS1 Electric davit with 1,000 Lb capacity off the stern (Added Aug. 2021) Boston Whale 110 Sport fiberglass tender with 25 HP Mercury Outboard Upgraded Garmin Chartplotters displays at upper and lower helm, Garmin sonar and radar (Added Aug. 2021) Upgraded Garmin Autopilot; new control module at upper helm (Added Aug. 2021) Upgraded 5 AGM batteries (Aug. 2021) Generator – 9 KW Onan, around 500 Hours (Last serviced Nov. 2022) Last surveyed Jan 2019. “Beneteau’s new Swift Trawler 42 offers a combination of elegant decor, thoughtful design and cruising speeds in the low 20s. Elegant: That’s the word that comes to mind when you perch on the doublewide bench at the pilothouse helm of the Swift Trawler 42 and survey the surroundings. Rich African Douka mahogany paneling and cabinetry are everywhere, and the cabin side windows are framed with this lustrous red wood. It’s a finishing touch that imparts the feel of days gone by, when ships were made of wood. Yet unlike most of the boats of yore, the lower helm in this pilothouse has 6'5 of headroom for excellent comfort when standing.” – Motorboating Magazine
